45NRTH Great Lakes Fat Bike Series

We are happy to announce that the Fat Bike Birkie is joining the Great Lakes Fat Bike Series!  The Fat Bike Birkie is a new event that will take place on 3/9/2013 under the American Birkebeiner banner.  The Fat Bike Birkie brings a third State into our series and gives riders in the Great Lakes region another opportunity to gain points toward the Great Lakes Fat Bike Series overall.

Since first dreaming up the Great Lakes Fat Bike Series we wanted to make it the premiere series for fatbikes in North America.  That meant that it needed to span multiple States and include only the very best fatbike events.  The American Birkebeiner, the nation's premiere nordic ski event, is certainly one of the best events in North America.  The Fat Bike Birkie will help the series reach even more riders. With three series events west of Lake Michigan fatbike riders in Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Upper Penninsula of Michigan have more opportunities close to them to complete the 3 events needed to qualify for the series overall.

The Fat Bike Birkie will take place March 9, 2013 on the Birkebeiner race course in Northern Wisconsin. Check out the Fat Bike Birkie website for race information.
